University School Ranked #1 in State
Niche, the market leader in connecting families and schools, announced their 2024 Private School Rankings. For the second year in a row, University School (US) was named the #1 Ranked Private K-12 School in the State of Ohio. US ranked #1 in three additional state-wide categories, including Best Private High School, Best High School for STEM, and Best All-Boys School. In addition to these top marks among Ohio schools, US ranked in the top 5% nationally across multiple categories, including Best High Schools for STEM and Best Private K-12 Schools.

Niche rankings are based on rigorous analysis of academic and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education along with test scores, college data, and ratings collected from millions of Niche users.
Just Announced: Middle School Expansion
This exciting development opens a new chapter for University School as we continue the ambitious re-imagining of our historic campus in Shaker Heights. The new Middle School project represents a continuation of the most transformative improvements to the campus in decades, including completely renovated, state-of-art classrooms; an additional state-of-the-science STEAMworks Innovation Lab; and sweeping new common spaces for the community at the heart of the US experience.
We anticipate this project’s completion just in time for the campus’s century milestone in the fall of 2025 – a wonderful 100th-birthday present to the entire community.
